Xavier girls golf wins Bay Conference Meet at Lake Breeze

WINNECONNE – Sophomore Aliisa Helminen fired a sizzling 33 to easily take medalist honors and help the Xavier girls golf team to a team victory at the 2023 season-opening Bay Conference Mini-Meet No. 1 on Thursday at Lake Breeze Golf Course.

Helminen earn the individual victory by seven shots over Sophia Eggert of Shawano.

May Shimek had a 42 to tie for third, Elizabeth Schubbe and Caroline Vanden Heuvel were part of a three-way tie for sixth with 45s, and Molly Martine had a 54 for Xavier, which finished with a team score of 165. Shawano was a distant second with a 192.

Xavier was scheduled to play at the Appleton West Invitational at Winagamie Golf Course on Friday (results not available) and will take part in the Heart of the Valley/Metro Invitational at High Cliff Golf Course on Monday.
