Appleton West baseball drops home game to Kaukauna

APPLETON – Two Kaukauna pitchers held Appleton West to three hits as the Ghosts pulled out a 4-1 win in a Fox Valley Association baseball game Thursday at the Nienhaus Sports Complex.
Zander Leick allowed one run in five innings with eight strikeouts to earn the win, and Max Hietpas tossed a pair of shutout innings to get the save for the Ghosts (4-2, 3-1 FVA).
Leick also had three hits and drove in a run for Kaukauna.
Loren Georger had two of three West’s three hits and drove in the Terrors’ only run.
Appleton West (1-6, 1-3 FVA) has now lost five games in a row. The Terrors are back in action Tuesday at Neenah.
