Kimberly powers past Appleton West softball

APPLETON – Kimberly scored multiple runs in all five of its at-bats and defeated Appleton West 19-1 in a Fox Valley Association softball game Friday at the Nienhaus Sports Complex.

The Papermakers (1-1 overall and FVA) scored eight times in the first inning to set the tone and cruised to the win.

Appleton West (1-2, 0-2 FVA) had just one hit, a single by Aubrey Detert, and committed seven errors.

Sophie Hermus had three hits, including two triples, and drove in three runs for Kimberly, which pounded out 20 hits.

Appleton West’s next game is Tuesday at home against Hortonville.
