OSHKOSH – Appleton West scored five times in the opening inning and went on to defeat Oshkosh North 5-2 in its Fox Valley Association baseball opener Thursday at E.J. Schneider Field.

Loren Georger picked up the win, giving up two runs in three innings with six strikeouts. Kellen Gilbert and Cameron St. John each back that up with two shutout innings apiece for Appleton West (1-1 overall).
Dimity Edmunds and Quinn Mueller each had two hits for the Terrors.
