Appleton North baseball splits twinbill vs. Burlington

KENOSHA – The Appleton North baseball team split a doubleheader against Burlington on Saturday, coming back from a 5-2 loss to win 9-6 in the second game of a twinbill at Carthage College.

Appleton North fell behind 3-0 in the first inning of the opener and couldn’t recover.

Despite allowing just three hits, and smacking nine hits of their own, the Lightning managed just two runs. Logan Hudson and Griffin Stan each had two hits for Appleton North in the loss.

The Lightning used a five-run third inning to pull ahead in the second game and held of as Thomas Carew picking up the win in relief, allowing two runs in three innings.

Stan scored twice and drove in a pair, and Jackson Stoff had two hits and three RBI for Appleton North (2-1).

Appleton North opens its Fox Valley Association schedule at Kaukauna on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
