Xavier softball tops Little Chute

APPLETON – The Xavier softball team won its second game in as many days, downing Little Chute 7-5 in a nonconference matchup Friday at Xavier High School.
The Hawks trailed 3-0 before scoring four times in the third inning and added three more in the sixth to pull away.
Addison Hervey went 4-for-4 with a double, a home run and four RBI to leave the way for Xavier (2-0).
Morgan Staszak added two hits and drove in a run for the Hawks.
Hervey also picked up the pitching win, striking out nine in five innings.
Xavier will open its Bay Conference season Monday at Seymour.
