Appleton North baseball hammers Notre Dame

ASHWAUBENON – The Appleton North baseball team came out in its season-opener with the offense clicking.

The Lightning smacked 11 hits and took advantage of four errors to defeat Green Bay Notre Dame 14-4 in a nonconference game at Capital Credit Union Park on Thursday afternoon.

The Lightning scored three times in the opening inning and cruised to the win, putting up multiple runs in three other innings after that.

Logan Hudson went 3-for-4 and Brennan Otto had two hits, with each driving in two for Appleton North. Levi Watts and Thomas Carew also had two RBI each in the win.

Cash Christianson picked up the pitching win for North, throwing 2 2/3 innings of shutout ball.

Appleton North will play a nonconference doubleheader at Cartage College in Kenosha against Burlington on Saturday beginning at noon.
