Top-seed Kaukauna rolls past Appleton West in WIAA D-1 boys basketball regional semifinal

KAUKAUNA – No. 1 seed Kaukauna proved too much for Appleton West to handle as it ended the Terrors’ season with a 94-58 victory in a WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal Friday at Kaukauna High School.
The Ghosts put up 53 points in the opening half, rolling out to a 31-point lead, and cruised the rest of the way.
Kaukauna (22-3) will host No. 9 seed Neenah (16-9) in a Division 1 regional final Saturday. The Fox Valley Association rivals split their two meetings during the conference season.
Appleton West, which earned a playoff win over Wisconsin Rapids last Tuesday, finish the season with a 3-23 record.
Keegan Van Kauwenberg drilled eight 3-pointers and finished with 30 points and eight rebounds to lead the way for the Ghosts.
Braylon Ise and Parrion Peace each scored 15 points, and Reid Hinkens chipped in 12 for the Terrors.
