Xavier boys basketball routs Ripon in WIAA Division 3 regional quarterfinal

APPLETON – The Xavier boys basketball team came out firing, putting up 57 first-half points on its way to a dominating 93-35 victory over Ripon in a WIAA Division 3 regional quarterfinal Tuesday night at Xavier High School.

Eleven different Hawks scored in the victory, with Luke Oelhafen leading the way with 21 points and six rebounds. Logan Ramczyk added 18 points, eight assists and six steals, and Kyler Bleck chipped in 14 points for Xavier.

Xavier rolled out to a 57-22 lead by halftime and finished off the victory by allowing just 13 points in the second half.

Blake Bradley led Ripon (2-23) with 14 points.

The No. 5 Xavier (19-6) moves on to a Division 3 regional semifinal at No. 4 Winnebago Lutheran (16-9) in Fond du Lac on Friday.
