Xavier girls basketball slips past Milwaukee Academy of Science in OT

APPLETON – Brynn Krull scored 18 points to lead three Xavier players in double figures and the Hawks held off Milwaukee Academy of Science in overtime, winning 69-67 in the nonconference game Tuesday night at Xavier High School.
The Novas (14-8) overcame a 35-23 halftime deficit to force overtime with a big 42-point second half.
In the extra period, Xavier (11-10) held a slight 4-2 advantage to pull out the victory.
Annika Heimann added 15 points and Faith Hafner chipped in 14 for the Hawks, who have won four straight.
Xavier will travel to Seymour for a Bay Conference game on Friday at 7 p.m.
