Kimberly outlasts Appleton North girls basketball, clinches FVA title

APPLETON – Kimberly clinched no worse than a tie for the Fox Valley Association girls basketball title with a 61-43 win over Appleton North on Friday at Appleton North High School.
The Papermakers rolled out to a 15-point lead by halftime and finished off the win to improve to 18-1 overall and a perfect 15-0 in the FVA. With Hortonville’s loss to Appleton East, Kimberly has a three-game lead in the conference standings with three games remaining.
Katelyn McGinnis topped Kimbelry with 19 points.
Tay Maass had 12 points and Avery Werfal nine for the Lightning (7-12, 4-11 FVA).
Appleton North will play a nonconference game at D.C. Everest on Monday before hosting Kaukauna in FVA action Tuesday.
