HORTONVILLE – The Appleton East girls basketball team hammered a depleted Hortonville squad 63-22 in a Fox Valley Association game Friday night at Hortonville High School.

The Polar Bears were playing without a number of their top scorers and East took advantage, racing out to a 33-11 lead by halftime and cruising to the 41-point win.

Ella Sweeney finished with 19 points and Torie Neubauer added 11 for the Patriots, who improve to 11-8 overall and 10-5 in the FVA after winning for the eight time in their last 10 games.

With the loss by Hortonville (14-5, 12-3 FVA), Kimberly clinches no worse than a share of the conference title after defeating Appleton North on Friday.

Appleton East will play at Oshkosh West on Tuesday.
