Xavier boys basketball storms back to defeat Menasha

MENASHA – Xavier overcame a 13-point halftime deficit with a dominant second half and defeated Menasha 84-71 in a Bay Conference boys basketball game Friday night at Menasha High School.
The Hawks knocked down 26 of 30 free throw attempts to help pace the comeback.
Menasha led 52-39 after a wild first half before Xavier clamped down, outscoring the Bluejays 45-19 over the final 18 minutes to win by double digits.
Luke Oelhafen had 18 points, and Kyler Bleck made all 12 of his free throw attempts to finish with 17 points for the Hawks (16-5, 10-1 Bay Conference).
Logan Ramczyk added 15 points, Joe Gallucci had 14, and Cole Hietpas had 12 points and nine rebounds for Xavier.
Trayveon Lockridge led Menasha (7-10, 4-6 Bay) with 21 points.
Xavier will host West De Pere on Thursday in a battle of Bay Conference leaders. West De Pere leads the Hawks by one game in the conference standings with only two games to go following Thursday’s game.
