Appleton East girls basketball routs Oshkosh North

APPLETON – The Appleton East girls basketball team dominated from start to finish, smashing Oshkosh North 65-24 in a Fox Valley Association matchup Friday at Appleton East High School.

The Patriots rolled out to a 40-9 lead by halftime and were never threatened, winning their fourth game in a row and for the seventh time in their last eight, improving to 10-7 overall and 9-4 in the FVA.

Ella Sweeney (20 points) and Lilly Meulemans (16 points) each had four 3-pointers to lead the way for Appleton East.

Awut Alic topped Oshkosh North (5-13, 3-10 FVA) with nine points.

Appleton East hosts Neenah on Tuesday. The two teams are tied for third in the conference standings.
