Appleton East girls basketball slams Oshkosh West

APPLETON – Appleton East made three consecutive 3-pointers in a big second-half run and outlasted Oshkosh West 80-62 in a Fox Valley Association girls basketball game Friday night at Appleton East High School.
The Patriots led 41-33 at halftime and pulled away for good with the 15-4 run in the second half on their way to their second win a row.
Ella Sweeney made all nine of her free throw attempts and scored a game-high 25 points, while Tori Neubauer added 19, 10 in the second half, for Appleton East (5-6, 5-3 Fox Valley Association).
The Patriots now stand alone in fourth place in the conference standings.
Kamryn Stauffacher led Oshkosh West (6-7, 4-4 FVA) with 15 points, all coming in the second half.
Appleton East hosts Appleton North as part of a girls-boys doubleheader on Tuesday. The girls game begins at 6 p.m. with the boys to follow at approximately 7:45 p.m.
