Fond du Lac shoots past Appleton North in battle of FVA boys basketball leaders

FOND DU LAC – Fond du Lac used the 3-point shot to defeat Appleton North 69-51 in a matchup of first-place boys basketball teams in the Fox Valley Association on Tuesday at Fond du Lac High School.

Fond du Lac went 13-for-33 from 3-point range, while holding Appleton North to 4-for-16 from long range to provide the difference in the game.

Fond du Lac improves to 7-3 overall and 5-1 in the FVA, maintaining a tie with Kaukauna for first place in the FVA. Appleton North sees its five-game winning streak snapped, and falls to 7-3 overall and 4-2 in the FVA.

Nathan Ramus had a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Lightning.

Zavion Davis drained five 3-pointers to finish with 19 points and Travion Pate chipped in 18 points for Fond du Lac.

Appleton North will host Kaukauna for another big FVA matchup on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
