Strong start pushes Cedarburg past Appleton United boys hockey

APPLETON – Cedarburg poured on six goals in the opening period and went on to defeat the Appleton United boys hockey team 8-3 in a nonconference game Tuesday night at the Appleton Family Ice Center.

Cedarburg (4-7-1) scored the game’s first three goals and led 6-1 after a wild opening 17 minutes.

After Appleton scored twice early in the third period on goals from Henry Heathman and Tyler Bishop, the Bulldogs tacked on two more to finish off the victory.

Brandon Tobak made 41 saves in goal for Appleton (4-9).

Appleton hosts Waupaca for another nonconference game Friday at 8 p.m.
