Big first-half run propels Xavier boys basketball past Green Bay West

GREEN BAY – The Xavier boys basketball team used a huge first-half run to open up a comfortable lead and cruised to an 88-61 win over Green Bay West in the Bay Conference opener for both teams Tuesday at Green Bay West High School.
The Hawks had a 34-2 run in the first half to take a 46-22 lead into halftime and held on from there, improve to 3-1 overall this season.
Logan Ramczyk hit five 3-pointers and scored 27 points, and Luke Oelhafen finished with 23 points and 12 rebounds for Xavier.
The Hawks made 12 of 19 3-pointers in the contest, while shooting 63 percent (31-for-49) overall.
Sam Hemery led West (2-2, 0-1 Bay Conference) with 19 points.
Xavier will enjoy a week off from competition before playing a nonconference game at Plymouth on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
