Appleton East boys basketball knocks off Fond du Lac

APPLETON – The Appleton East boys basketball team found itself in a tight game for the second-straight time to start the 2024-25 season, and for the second time, the Patriots came out on top.
Appleton East came back from a slim two-point halftime deficit to defeat Fond du Lac 59-56 in the Fox Valley Association opener for both teams on Friday night at East High School.
The Patriots used a 30-25 advantage in the second half to pull ahead and improve to 2-0 overall.
Cade Prestigiacomo had 18 points, and DaKing Clemons and Jacob Weisbach each made three 3-pointers to finish with 13 and 10 points, respectively, for the Patriots.
Eli Zimmerman had 17 points to top Fond du Lac (0-2 overall).
Appleton East will play a nonconference game at Pulaski on Monday at 7 p.m.
