Whitefish Bay holds off Appleton East girls basketball

WALES – Appleton East was held to 19 second-half points as the Patriots fell to Whitefish Bay 50-45 on Friday at the Kettle Moraine Girls Basketball Thanksgiving Classic at Kettle Moraine High School.
The Patiots (0-2) trailed 27-26 at halftime and could not make up any ground in the second half as they were outscored by four points.
Torie Neubauer was the lone Appleton East player to score in double figures, finishing with 18 points.
Rowan Counsell led Whitefish Bay (2-0) with 20 points.
Appleton East will take on The Prairie School of Racine at 4 p.m. Saturday as the tournament concludes.
