Appleton West girls basketball falls by one to D.C. Everest

APPLETON –D.C. Everest overcame a seven-point halftime deficit to pick up a narrow 37-36 win over Appleton West in a nonconference girls basketball game Thursday night at Appleton West High School.
The Evergreens, playing their first game of the season, trailed 17-12 after a sluggish first half, but broke out of it with a 25-point second half to pull out the victory.
Allysen Buss had 11 points to top Appleton West (1-1).
Kirsten Hall had 11 points, and Grace Sandquist and Alisa Chmielewski each added seven for D.C. Everest.
The Terrors are off until Tuesday, Dec. 3, when they host Oshkosh North for their Fox Valley Association opener.
