Appleton North outlasts Appleton West in WIAA boys volleyball regional final

APPLETON – The Appleton North boys volleyball team advanced to next week’s sectionals with a 3-1 win over Appleton West in a WIAA regional final Friday night at North High School.
The No. 3 seed Lightning won 25-12, 25-19, 21-25, 25-20, to a sectional semifinal at No. 2 seed Fond du Lac/North Fond du Lac on Tuesday at Fond du Lac High School. The Cardinals defeated Green Bay Notre Dame/Bay Port 3-0 on Friday.
Nathan Ramus had 28 kills, Spencer Munson finished with 34 assists and three service aces, and Landon Kue had 20 digs for Appleton North.
Owen Tierney and Sam Kuehl each added 11 kills in the win for Appleton North.
Appleton West statistics were not reported.
