Xavier girls volleyball sweeps Ashwaubenon in WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal

APPLETON – The Xavier girls volleyball team started its quest for a third-straight trip to the state tournament with a 3-0 sweep of Ashwaubenon in a WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal Thursday night at Xavier High School.

The Hawks won 25-19, 25-20, 25-18, to improve to 25-15 this season. The No. 4 seed Xavier will host No. 5 Appleton North (17-20) for a D-1 regional final on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Sydney Neilitz had 29 assists and five digs, Madison Daly had a team-high 12 kills and also had five digs, and Ali Tylinski finished with nine kills and eight digs in the win for the Hawks.

Elle Downs added five kills, and Grace Hackl had 13 digs and five service aces for Xavier.
