Appleton West boys soccer rolls past Xavier to finish regular season on four-game winning streak

APPLETON – The Appleton West boys soccer team extended its winning streak to four with a 9-2 rout of Xavier in a nonconference match Thursday at the Nienhaus Sports Complex.
Kivi Itecha had a hat trick, Lomona Ilunga and Salah Zeineldin both scored twice, and Michael Wilondja and Lincoln Vang added goals for Appleton West.
Xavier’s goals were not reported.
The Terrors have won six of their last seven games and finish the regular season with a 10-6-3 record. Xavier falls to 13-7-1.
Both teams will open postseason play next week. Appleton West will play a WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal at Hortonville on Tuesday, while Xavier will host the winner of Tuesday’s game between Berlin and Green Bay West in a Division 3 regional semifinal on Thursday, Oct. 24.
