Fox Valley Lutheran girls volleyball sweeps Marinette, grabs share of North Eastern Conference championship

MARINETTE – The Fox Valley Lutheran girls volleyball team swept Marinette 3-0 on Thursday night at Marinette High School, locking up a share of its second-straight North Eastern Conference title.

The Foxes won 25-13, 25-10, 25-5, to finish the NEC season with an 8-1 record and a tie for the conference championship with Luxemburg-Casco and Freedom.

Sophia Wunderlick had 11 kills, Hannah Uhlenbrauck added 10, Riley Schmitz finished with 15 digs and six assists, Ava Patchett had 16 assists, and Molly Bixby contributed 15 assists in the win for the Foxes.

Fox Valley Lutheran is the No. 2 seed in its half of the Division 2 Sectional 3 bracket for the upcoming WIAA playoffs. FVL will host the winner of Tuesday’s quarterfinal match between No. 10 Green Bay East and No. 7 Little Chute on Thursday, Oct. 24, for a regional semifinal.
