Appleton West’s Fouts wins girls race at Kimberly Cross Country Invitational

KIMBERLY – Appleton West’s Lucie Fouts won the girls race as the Terrors finished second in the team standings at the Kimberly Cross Country Invitational on Thursday at Kimberly High School.

Fouts won the girls 5-kilometer race in 19:56.1, three seconds in front of Sienna Timm of Waupaca.

Morgan Breed finished sixth in 20:41.5 and Roseanna Dane was eighth in 21:02.1 for the Terrors, who finished with 81 points, four behind champion De Pere.

Appleton East finished third with 124 points and Xavier was sixth with 150 in the girls standings.

Rosemaire Butler finished seventh in 20:50.3 and Evie Eidemiller was 25th in 22:20.2 for Appleton East.

Xavier’s top runners were Noelle Nevins (22nd in 21:56.4) and Lily McHugh (23rd, 22:08.8).

De Pere also won the boys team title, finishing with 42 points. Pulaski was second with 50, with Xavier sixth with 152, Appleton East seventh with 163 and Appleton West ninth with 220.

Owen Lencki of Waupaca won the boys race in 16:44.7, 12.3 seconds ahead of West De Pere’s Carson Samson.

Louie Mandich had the top local finish, taking 13th for Appleton East in 17:35.0.

Jordan Rosenbaum of Xavier placed 15th in 17:47.1 and Kegan Phalin led Appleton West, taking 19th in 17:57.5.
