Appleton North girls volleyball sweeps Appleton East in home finale

APPLETON – The Appleton North girls volleyball team earned a 3-0 sweep of crosstown rival Appleton East in a Fox Valley Association matchup Thursday night at North High School in the Lightning’s final regular-season home match.

The Lightning won 25-10, 25-11, 25-17, improving to 5-3 in FVA duals this season. Appleton East falls to 3-5.

Teegan Charapata had 22 kills and six digs, setters Lydia Koshuta (19) and Hannah Moua (14) combined for 33 assists, and Chloe North had a team-high 13 digs for Appleton North. Kayden Lamon chipped in eight kills and five blocks, and Ellis Brinkman had three service aces for the Lightning.

Appleton East statistics were not reported.

Appleton North will play at the Milwaukee Divine Savior Holy Angels Tournament on Saturday before finishing its regular season at Neenah on Thursday, Oct. 17. Appleton East’s last match of the season is Oct. 17 at home against Kimberly.
