First-place Kaukauna rallies to top Appleton North girls volleyball in five sets

KAUKAUNA – Kaukauna rallied to win the final two sets and defeated Appleton North 3-2 in a Fox Valley Association girls volleyball match Tuesday night at Kaukauna High School.

Kaukauna won 16-25, 25-23, 22-25, 25-16, 15-8, to stay unbeaten in the FVA at 7-0. Appleton North drops to 4-3.

“Tonight was another marathon match,” Appleton North coach Steve Scheuerell said. “Kaukauna is a great team and we pushed them as far as we could. We continue to fight with everything we have each and every point.”

Chloe North had 21 digs, Lydia Koshuta (20) and Hannah Moua (19) combined for 39 assists, and Teegan Charapata had 24 kills and 15 digs to lead the Lightning. Kayden Lamon added 11 kills for North.

Appleton North will be at home to host rival Appleton East on Thursday at 7 p.m.
