Appleton East’s Feller finishes runner-up at 2024 Fox Valley Association Girls Golf Tournament

APPLETON – Kaukauna’s McKenna Lowe won the individual title and helped the Ghosts to their fourth-straight championship at the 2024 Fox Valley Association Girls Golf Tournament on Thursday at Chaska Golf Course.

Lowe, who finished one shot behind Appleton East’s Jaelyn Feller at last year’s FVA Tournament, flipped the script and held off Feller by three strokes on Thursday as she shot a 73 to Feller’s 76. Charlie Clinefelter and Grace Schomin of Kaukauna tied for third with 77s, with Emily Brokl of Appleton North rounding out the top-five with an 84.

Kaukauna rolled to the team title with those top three finishes, ending with a score of 325, 35 strokes better than Hortonville. Appleton North was third (363), Appleton East fourth (377) and Appleton West sixth (382) among the 10 teams.

Alex Simon of Appleton East and Kendall Lindemann of Appleton North were part of a five-way tie for sixth with 85.

Lydia Barry topped Appleton West with an 87 and Addison Edmunds tied for 15^th with a 94 for the Terrors.

Appleton East, Appleton West and Appleton North will compete at a WIAA Division 1 regional on Tuesday at Winagamie Golf Course in Neenah.

The top four teams and top four individuals not on those teams will qualify for a D-1 sectional at Thornberry Creek in Green Bay on Oct. 8. The top two teams and top three individuals not on the qualifying teams move on to the 2024 WIAA State Girls Golf Tournament at University Ridge Golf Club in Madison on Oct. 14-15.
