Fox Valley Lutheran ties for fifth at North Eastern Conference Girls Golf Championship

GREENLEAF – Marinette captured the team title and Freedom’s Kay Lee McClintock earned the individual victory at the 2024 North Eastern Conference Girls Golf Championship on Wednesday at Wander Springs Golf Course.

Marinette won the team title with an 18-hole score of 363, with Wrightstown a distant second with a 398. Fox Valley Lutheran ended up tied for fifth among the nine teams with a 422.

McClintock, a sophomore, earned the individual championship by four shots over Marinette’s Kennedy Polomis and Anna Marzahl.

Elliot Kriewaldt had a top-10 finish for Fox Valley Lutheran as she finished in a three-way tie for ninth with a 100.

Cecelia Hermann shot a 103, Lucy Engelbrecht had a 109, Lily Kari finished with a 110 and C.J. Woosley had a 118 to round out the scoring for the Foxes.

Fox Valley Lutheran will compete at a WIAA Division 1 regional at Winagamie Golf Course in Neenah on Tuesday.

The top four teams and top four individuals not on those teams will qualify for a D-1 sectional at Thornberry Creek in Green Bay on Oct. 8. The top two teams and top three individuals not on the qualifying teams move on to the 2024 WIAA State Girls Golf Tournament at University Ridge Golf Club in Madison on Oct. 14-15.
