Shawano wins team title, Xavier places sixth at Bay Conference Girls Golf Championship

GREENLEAF – Shawano captured the title at the Bay Conference Girls Golf Championship, edging Seymour by three shots at the 18-hole event at Wander Springs Golf Course on Tuesday.

Shawano finished with a score of 373, three shots better than Seymour’s 376. Xavier finished sixth with a 444.

Sophia Eggert of Shawano shot an 81 to win individual honors, four shots in front of Seymour’s Lyla Schueler.

Caroline Vanden Heuvel shot a 99 to tie for eighth, Josie Egan had a 105, Sarah Rettler fired a 116, Meredith Lange had a 124 and Gianna Heid had a 135 for Xavier.

Xavier will compete at a WIAA Division 2 regional at Mid Vallee Golf Course in De Pere on Thursday, Oct. 3. The top four teams and top four individuals not on those teams will qualify for a D-2 sectional at Crystal Springs Golf Course in Seymour on Oct. 8. The top two teams and top three individuals not on the qualifying teams move on to the 2024 WIAA State Girls Golf Tournament at University Ridge Golf Club in Madison on Oct. 14-15.
