Appleton West, Appleton North each land three on first team of 2024 All-Fox Valley Association Baseball Team

Appleton West and Appleton North each had three first-team selections to the 2024 All-Fox Valley Association Baseball Team, as voted on by the 10 conference coaches following the season.

Appleton West junior pitcher Loren Georger, junior catcher Dimitry Edmunds and utility player Ryder Hoffman were each unanimous first-team picks for the Terrors, who finished 6-11 in FVA action.

Senior first baseman Brandon Schopf and junior outfielder Levi Watts were unanimous selections to the first team for North, and senior pitcher Ethan Wick was also named to the first team for the Lightning, who placed third in the final standings at 12-6.

Appleton East also had a selection to the 20-player first team as junior shortstop Cade Prestigiacomo earned the honor.

Georger finished the season with a 4-5 record and a 2.80 earned run average, striking out 71 in 45 innings, while also hitting .250 with 13 RBI; Edmunds batted .415 with 12 runs and 11 RBI; and Ryder Hoffman hit an even .500 with 20 runs scored for the Terrors.

Wick was North’s top pitcher, going 4-2 with a 1.40 ERA with 31 strikeouts in 30 innings pitched. Schopf hit .426 with 15 runs scored and 23 RBI, while Watts batted .388 with 13 runs scored and nine RBI for the Lightning.

Prestigiacomo’s complete final statistics were not available.

Kimberly junior designated hitter Sawyer Deering was named FVA Player of the Year. Deering hit .426 with 26 RBI and 25 runs scored, and went 5-0 as a pitcher with a 1.40 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 25 innings pitched.

Appleton North catcher William Hoerner was a second-team selection, while teammates Matthew Hietpas, Nick Bergin, Bennett Popp and Alex Ramus were honorable mention selections.

Matt Bixler and Alex Thompson were honorable mention choices for Appleton East, while Appleton West’s Blayton Will and Michael Gwiazdon were also honorable mention picks.
