Denmark explodes late to defeat Fox Valley Lutheran softball

APPLETON – Denmark broke open a tight game with an eight-run fifth inning and added seven more in the sixth to run away with a 15-1 win over Fox Valley Lutheran in a North Eastern Conference softball game Tuesday at Fox Valley Lutheran High School.
Madison Babcock hit a home run in the fourth inning to give FVL a 1-0 lead and she was cruising along on the mound as well until the Vikings were able to suddenly find their hitting strokes in the fifth.
Olivia Ullman had three hits, including two doubles, and drove in three, Shaelyn Krashnewski also had three RBI and Ashlyn Schultz knocked in two for Denmark (19-5, 15-3 NEC).
Fox Valley Lutheran finishes its regular season at 17-7 overall and in fourth place at 11-7 in the North Eastern Conference.
The Foxes will host Bay Conference champion Seymour (15-8) for a WIAA Division 2 regional semifinal next Tuesday, May 21, at 5 p.m.
