Xavier softball drops regular-season finale at Waupun

WAUPUN – The Xavier softball team dropped its regular-season finale, falling to Waupun 9-1 in a nonconference game Monday at Waupun High School.

Mariah Potter hit a solo home run in the top of the second inning for Xavier’s only hit in the loss as it finishes the regular season with a 7-12 record.

Addison Braun struck out 10 in four innings and Hannah Bade had five strikeouts in three innings of relief for Waupun (13-3). The duo did not walk a batter.

Xavier will play a WIAA Division 3 regional semifinal at Amherst on Tuesday, May 21.
