Xavier wins five titles at Bay Conference Track & Field Meet

DE PERE – Xavier combined for five event wins as the girls team placed second and the boys took fifth at the 2024 Bay Conference Track & Field Meet on Saturday at West De Pere High School.
West De Pere swept the two team titles, with Shawano earning the runner-up finish for the boys.
Senior Lilie Fouts was a triple conference champion for the Xavier girls as she won the 1,600 meters in 5:09.98, the 3,200 in 11:17.14, and was part of the 3,200 relay team, along with Hannah Linsmeyer, Analise Minorik and Joy Krull that won in 9:42.64.
Hailey Hefner also added a win for the Xavier girls as she won the 100-meter hurdles in 15.48 seconds.
Ben Olvey had the Xavier’s boys lone victory as he won the 110 hurdles in 14.74 seconds.
Earning runner-up finishes for the girls for Xavier were Caroline Basehoar in the pole vault (10-0), the 800 relay team of Yami Ornelas, Bernice Geurts, Hailey Hafner and Faith Hafner in 1:49.62, and the 400 relay team of Ornelas, Geurts, Bryce Hietpas and Faith Hafner in 51.77 seconds.
The Xavier boys had two second-place finishes – Cole Hietpas in the 300 hurdles (42.72) and the 800 relay team of Carter Appl, Olvey, Michael Kippenhan and Evan McCormick (1:34.80).
Xavier will compete at a WIAA Division 2 regional at Winneconne on May 20.
