Fox Valley Lutheran baseball shut out by Freedom

APPLETON – Freedom pitchers Carson Clausen and Drew Shepard combined on a four-hit shutout as the Irish ended Fox Valley Lutheran’s five-game winning streak with a 6-0 victory in a North Eastern Conference baseball game Monday at Fox Valley Lutheran High School.
FVL pitcher Mac Kramer matched zeroes with Clausen through four innings before Freedom (11-9, 7-7 NEC) broke through with a run in the fifth.
The Irish added four runs in the sixth and another in the seventh to finish off the victory.
Clausen finished with 12 strikeouts and two walks to earn the win with six shutout innings on the mound for Freedom.
FVL (9-8, 8-4 NEC) was held to four singles in the loss.
Fox Valley Lutheran will be back in action Wednesday at home against Denmark as the teams pick up a game that was suspended due to darkness back on April 18 that is tied at 4-4 through 10 innings.
