Appleton North baseball wins 10th straight, doubles up Fond du Lac

FOND DU LAC – Logan Hudson threw a complete game as the Appleton North baseball team won its 10th game in a row, downing Fond du Lac 4-2 in a Fox Valley Association game Friday at Fond du Lac High School.
Appleton North (12-2, 10-1 FVA) scored three times in the first two innings and Hudson held the Cardinals (9-6, 4-6 FVA) at bay the rest of the way, finishing with four strikeouts and no walks, and allowing single runs in the second and sixth innings.
Matthew Hietpas had an RBI single in the first inning and Isaac Schultz drove in two with a double in the second to give North a 3-0 lead.
Nick Bergin added an RBI single in the sixth for the Lightning, who finished with 10 hits, two each by Bergin and Levi Watts.
Appleton North will host Oshkosh West on Tuesday.
