Goal in final minute lifts Appleton United boys lacrosse to road win at Wausau

WESTON – Ryder Hill scored with 19 seconds remaining to lift the Appleton United boys lacrosse team to a 10-9 win over Wausau on Tuesday night at D.C. Everest High School.

Wausau fought back from a three-goal deficit to tie the game before Hill drilled the game-winner in the closing seconds, which was his third goal of the game.

Landon Larson and Hans Ridlehoover each scored twice, and Trevin Schultz, Jaylen Kempfer and Anton Downs each added goals in the win for Appleton (3-3).

Appleton dominated the JV game, winning 12-1.

Appleton’s next game is home against De Pere on Saturday. The game, at Appleton East High School, will start at 11 a.m.
