Appleton North girls soccer knocks off Neenah

APPLETON – The Appleton North girls soccer team won its second-straight Fox Valley Association match to start the season, holding off Neenah 2-1 on Tuesday night at North High School.

Claire Zulewski scored off an assist from Natalie Roe just 4:55 into the game and Brinley Dunsirn hit what proved to be the game-winning goal 17:38 into the second half for the Lightning’s two scores. Maya Zulewski assisted on the final goal.

Serena Jaber made three saves in goal for Appleton North, which improves to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in the FVA.

Appleton North will host Sturgeon Bay for a nonconference match Friday at 7 p.m.
