Kimberly hands Appleton North baseball its first loss of season

APPLETON – The Appleton North baseball team suffered its first loss of the young season, falling to Kimberly 9-2 in a Fox Valley Association game Thursday at Appleton North High School.
Kimberly led 3-1 after six innings before blowing the game open with a six-run top of the seventh, improving to 2-0 overall and in the FVA.
Alex Ramus had a hit and an RBI for Appleton North (2-1 overall and FVA), which was held for four singles in the loss.
Sawyer Deering had a home run and three RBI, and Ben Johnston drove in a pair of runs for the Papermakers.
Appleton North hosts De Pere for a nonconference game Monday at 4:30 p.m.
