Appleton North baseball knocks off Oshkosh West

OSHKOSH – Logan Hudson tossed five shutout innings and the Appleton North baseball team posted its second win in as many days, downing Oshkosh West 7-4 on Tuesday at Peppler Field at Oshkosh West High School.

Hudson struck out six and scattered seven hits to earn the win. Oshkosh West plated all four of its runs in the sixth after Hudson left, but Alex Ramus was able to put out the first, getting the final four outs to grave the save for the Lightning (2-0 overall and Fox Valley Association).

Ramus and Levi Watts both had two hits, and Brandon Schopf and Hudson each knocked in a pair of runs for Appleton North.

Gavin Ruh had three hits for Oshkosh West, which was playing its season opener.

Appleton North will play again Thursday at home against Kimberly beginning at 4:30 p.m.
