Fox Valley Lutheran baseball held to one hit, drops season-opener to Denmark

GREEN BAY – Two Denmark pitchers held Fox Valley Lutheran to just one hit and defeated the Foxes 4-1 in the season-opener for both teams at Capital Credit Union Stadium on Saturday.

All 10 North Eastern Conference teams played in five games throughout the day at the home of the Northwoods League’s Green Bay Rockers.

Grant Schroeder struck out 11 over four hit-free innings to earn the victory and David Dittmer picked up the save with three innings of relief for Denmark.

Jacob Bickel doubled and later scored on a double play grounder in the top of the fifth inning for Fox Valley Lutheran’s lone run in the game.

Ebyn LaForest drove in three of Denmark’s four runs.

Mac Kramer threw a complete game for Fox Valley Lutheran, striking out four and walking three while allowing two earned runs.

Fox Valley Lutheran plays at Clintonville on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
