Xavier boys basketball routs Two Rivers in WIAA Division 3 regional semifinal

APPLETON – The Xavier boys basketball team dominated the first half and made quick work of Two Rivers, rolling to a 73-47 victory in a WIAA Division 3 regional semifinal Friday night at Xavier High School.

The Hawks built a 28-point lead by halftime at 41-13 and maintained their big lead the rest of the way.

The No. 2 seed Xavier (23-2) will host No. 3 Brillion (21-4) for a D-3 regional final Saturday at 7 p.m. Brillion dispatched Wrightstown 64-49 on Friday.

Tyler Brightman had 18 points on 7-for-10 shooting, and Sam Pfefferle added 14 points for Xavier, which had a dozen players hit the scoring column as it emptied its bench in the second half.

Carson Kadow had 11 points for Two Rivers (11-15).
