Appleton North girls basketball earns home win over Kaukauna

APPLETON – Avery Werfal poured in 24 points to lead the Appleton North girls basketball team to a 53-41 victory over Kaukauna in a Fox Valley Association game Friday night at North High School.

Shayna Williams added 12 points and Tay Maass had 10 for the Lightning, who are now 7-6 overall and 5-3 in the FVA after winning for the sixth time in their past eight games.

Addison Baumgart led Kaukauna (5-7, 3-5 FVA) with 11 points.

Appleton North will host Appleton East as part of a girls-boys doubleheader on Tuesday. The girls game starts at 6 p.m., with the boys to follow at approximately 7:45 p.m.
