Xavier boys basketball holds off Seymour to win Bay Conference opener

SEYMOUR – Reid Hietpas scored a team-high 14 points to lead the Xavier boys basketball team to a 57-50 win over Seymour in its Bay Conference opener on Tuesday at Seymour High School.
Sam Pfefferle and Hayden Quimby each chipped in 12 for the Hawks, who remain undefeated at 4-0 overall this season.
The Hawks opened up a double-digit lead by halftime at 33-21 and were able hold off a second-half run from Seymour (1-1 overall) to clinch the win.
Xavier will play a Bay Conference game at Menasha on Friday at 7 p.m.
