LaChapell pours in 38 as Appleton East slips past Fond du Lac in FVA boys basketball opener

FOND DU LAC – Joey LaChapell scored a game-high 38 points to lift the Appleton East boys basketball team to a tight 61-57 win over Fond du Lac in the Fox Valley Association opener for both teams on Friday night at Fond du Lac High School.

Grayson Kasmarek added nine points for the Patriots, who even their overall record at 1-1.

Eli Braatz had 14 points and Rocky Barfknecht chipped in 11 for Fond du Lac (0-2 overall).

Appleton East will play a nonconference game at Bay Port on Tuesday.
