Fox Valley Lutheran girls volleyball opens WIAA playoffs with sweep of Two Rivers

APPLETON – Fox Valley Lutheran opened the postseason with a dominating performance, sweeping Two Rivers 3-0 in a WIAA Division 2 girls volleyball regional quarterfinal on Tuesday night at Fox Valley Lutheran High School.

The second-seeded Foxes won 25-9, 25-10, 25-13, to advance to a regional semifinal Thursday at home against No. 7 Sturgeon Bay, which swept Wrightstown on Tuesday.

Emma Nilson, Sophia Wunderlich and Annalise Patchett each contributed five kills to the win for FVL. Ava Patchett finished with seven aces and eight assists, Molly Bixby had 12 assists with two aces, and Riley Schmitz had a team-high of seven digs for the Foxes.
