Xavier sweeps team titles at Bay Conference Cross Country Meet

GREEN BAY – Xavier swept the team titles and Lilie Fouts was the individual girls champion for the Hawks at the 2023 Bay Conference Cross Country Meet on Saturday at Shorewood Course at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
Xavier’s Fouts won the girls 5-kilometer race in 18:51.4, 10 seconds ahead of West De Pere’s Kate Schmoll. The Hawks’ six runners all finished in the top nine in a dominating team performance as they won the team title with 24 points. New London was second with 65.
Annalise Minorik was third (19:03.8), Lauren Erickson took fifth (20:11.0), Hannah Linsmeyer finished seventh (20:24.9), Reana Lambie was eighth (20:25.3) and Elle Krull was ninth (20:25.4) for the Hawks.
The Xavier boys had three top-10 finishes and ended up with 47 points, just one better than Shawano, which had conference individual champion Will Chelberg (16:16.7) and runner-up Ethan Onesti (16:28.7).
Noah Donnermeyer took third in 16:47.0, Luke Krull was fifth in 17:22.7 and Will Sullivan finished 10th in 18:02.0 for the Hawks.
Xavier will compete at a WIAA Division 2 sectional meet at Shamrock Heights Golf Course in New London next Saturday, Oct. 21. The boys race starts at 11 a.m. and the girls race at noon.
