Fox Valley Lutheran’s Donart earns top-10 finish at North Eastern Conference Cross Country Meet

GREEN BAY – Fox Valley Lutheran senior Kristin Donart finished seventh in the girls 5-kilometer race as the Foxes took fourth in the team standings at the North Eastern Conference Cross Country Meet on Friday at Shorewood Course at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
Donart ran in 20:06.0 to lead the FVL girls, who finished with 89 points in the team standings. Freedom won the girls team title with 48 points and Little Chute was a close second with 51.
Little Chute was the boys team champion with 56 points, while Fox Valley Lutheran ended up sixth with 127.
Little Chute’s Ashley Wilson won the girls race in 19:10.0, a comfortable 27 seconds ahead of Freedom’s Leigh DeWitt.
Rowen Volhard (15th, 21:13.4) and Claire Fischer (18th, 21:29.7) also earned top-20 finishes for the FVL girls.
Ben Adams of Oconto Falls cruised to the boys 5K title, running in 16:50.9, 33 seconds ahead of runner-up Kyan Lynts of Luxemburg-Casco.
Mason Dobberstein took 11th in 17:47.1 and Gavin Trygstad was 24th in 18:44.1 to lead the Fox Valley Lutheran boys.
Fox Valley Lutheran will compete at a WIAA Division 2 sectional meet at Shamrock Heights Golf Course in New London next Saturday, Oct. 21. The boys race starts at 11 a.m. and the girls race at noon.
