Papendorf throws four TDs as Fox Valley Lutheran football rolls past Shawano

SHAWANO – The Fox Valley Lutheran football team used a huge second quarter to pull past Shawano 31-14 in its regular-season finale Friday night at Shawano High School.
Lucas Papendorf threw for 171 yards and four touchdowns for the Foxes, who finish the regular season with a 5-4 record and a 3-4 mark in the Bay Conference. Shawano ends its season at 1-8 and 0-7 in the Bay.
Fox Valley Lutheran scored three touchdowns in the third quarter and added 10 more points in the third quarter to take control at 31-8 and were able to hold on from there.
Papendorf threw two touchdown passes to Jacoby Dobberstein, and others to Blessings Kapande and Gabe Heiges in the win.
FVL’s defense forced four turnovers in the win.
Fox Valley Lutheran is the No. 5 seed in its Division 3 bracket and will play at No. 4 Wausau East (6-3) in a WIAA Level 1 game Friday at Thom Field in Wausau at 7 p.m.
